We are pleased to invite you to attend the "Vietnam Crop Information System"
international seminar, on December 15th 2005, at the Army Hotel in Hanoi.
This seminar will introduce results of EU Geo-spatial techniques applied to
the Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia context, for agricultural statistics, crop
inventory and monitoring, production forecast, crop potential and quality.
The seminar will focus on the most recent results and technical findings on
the following topics:
- Vegetation and Crop monitoring using Remote Sensing technologies (Vietnam,
Laos,
Cambodia)
- Ag-Information system for local management and quality improvement of Tea
production in Daitu District (Thai Nguyen Province)
- Dedicated Coffee Information System Implemented in the Daklak province to
capture and monitor the planted acreage evolution and to better forecast
production.
In the context of WTO integration, EU PIP -EUREP-GAP programs and
globalisation of Agrifood exchanges, the need for reliable and updated
information is mandatory to monitor, analyze and report trends and define
better development policies for Agriculture. In addition, the new quality
norms and the traceability issues required in several sector are to be
considered as by-products of Ag-Information system. In the light of these
new challenges facing the Ag- Sector, we believe this seminar will bring
fruitful experiences and valuable networking for you and your organisation.
