[Gisideas] About Conference Schedule and Reconformation

Dear All, The GIS-IDEAS 2014 program is now on line at [1]. This is an almost final program but some last minutes changes may still be required. Oral presentations are for 20 minutes duration (15 min. presentation and 5 minutes Q&A). Poster presentation have 90 minutes core-time when the poster presenters will be required to be present before their posters for Q&A. Poster presenters will have to bring printed posters (A0 Size) to affiix on allotted poster panels on the morning of 8 Dec 2014 and will need to un-mount their poster after the poster session. All presenters and participants are expected to confirm their participation by sending the reconfirmation form to gisideas.secretary(a)gmail.com. Participants/persenters who do not re-confirm may not receive the conference kit as we are preparing only limited number for confirmed participants. Training workshops are being organized on 6 Dec 2014. Please indicate your choice of workshop in the re-confirmation form. [Gisideas] About Training Workshop at GIS-IDEAS 2014

Dear Workshop Participants, Training workshop will be organized on 6 Dec 2017 as announced in [1]. The place and time are as below; Workshop1: Environmental Mapping Using Open Source GIS and Open Data Place/Time: Meeting Room- Building A5, 3rd Floor 9:00-17:00 Workshop2: Introduction to Quantum GIS Place/Time: Seminar Room 302- Building A5, 3rd Floor 9:00-12:00 Workshop3: WebGIS application development using MapMint Place/Time: Seminar room 208- Building A5, 2rd Floor 14:00-17:00 Workshop4: Hand-on intro to LiDAR processing with LAStools Place/Time: Seminar room 209- Building A5, 2rd Floor 14:00-17:00 Workshop1 and Workshop3 will be in lecture style where participants will not need to use computers to do exercises during the workshop. Training material and software will be provided on USB and participants are free to copy and use for self-study after the workshop. Workshop2 and Workshop3 participants will need to bring their own computers running MS-Windows-7 and are expected to complete workshop exercises during the workshop itself. All workshop material will be provided on USB for participants to copy on their computers. Pl. make sure that the computers are fully charged before coming to the workshop as power connections maybe limited. Look forward to seeing you at GIS-IDEAS 2014. Dear Presenters at GIS-IDEAS 2014, The conference papers are available online at [1] and conference schedule is available at [2]. Authors who have not uploaded their full paper are requested to do so before 5 Dec. 2014. If you do not intend to submit full-paper please inform by sending email to gisideas.secretary(a)gmail.com Full paper can be uploaded form the conference web-site at [3]. If you have difficulty in uploading the full-paper, please send the PDF file via email to gisideas.secretary(a)gmail.com. Authors who have already submitted full papers pl. verify that your paper is uploaded properly by following the link to the PDF file at [1]. Only full-papers will be published in the conference hardcopy proceedings which is scheduled to be brought out in Feb. 2015. Pl. ensure that the author guidelines [4] are **strictly** followed while preparing your full papers. Oral presentations will be for 20 minutes (15 minutes+ 5 minutes Q&A). Core time for poster presentations is scheduled from 11:00-12:30 on 8 Dec. 2014 when the authors are expected to be available before their poster for Q&A. Abstracts are available online at [2] 3) 4 Training workshops will be conducted on 6 Dec 2014. Details of the conference are available at [2]. Please select workshop of your choice while your register or inform the conference secretariat (gisideas.secretary(a)gmail.com) about your choice of workshop. Seats for workshops are limited and will be allotted on first-come-first-serve basis. So please register early to avoid disappointments. 4) Conference registration page is available at [3]. Please register in advance. Early bird registration (at discounted price) will close on 15 Oct 2014 5) Special Field Visit in and around Danang is organized on 9 Dec 2014.
