Dear GIS-IDEAS participants and JVGC members,

Thanks for the enthusiastic response for GIS-IDEAS 2006. Some authors have reported experiencing difficulty in uploading abstract from the conference web site. This was mainly some minor problems while updating conference management system that have been already fixed.

In view of the above, the deadline for abstract submission and paper deadline to enable authors to upload their submission from the web-site. The extended deadlines are shown below.

Abstract Deadline: July 25, 2006 Notice of Acceptance: August 15, 2006 Paper Deadline: September 15, 2006

We thank the authors who have already submitted their abstract. We invite new submission before the final abstract submission deadline.

Dear All,

The deadline for submission of full papers for GIS-IDEAS was set at 25th September, 2006. Several authors have requested extension of deadline for submission of full paper. Some authors have pointed out difficulty in uploading their full-papers in PDF format from the conference website. This was due to some misconfiguration of the system which has been sorted out some days ago. We are sorry for the trouble.

In view of the above, we would like to extend the final deadline to 8th Sept, 2006. No further extension will be possible since we have to get the conference program and proceedings ready in time.

We also uploaded papers received by e-mail. All papers received thus far are available online at http://wgrass.media.osaka-cu.ac.jp/gisideas06/papers.php?first_letter=all

Authors can choose the link of their submissions and kindly check the PDF link to verify that their full-papers are properly uploaded.

Authors are requested to *strictly follow* the guidelines and prepare their manuscripts in camera-ready format.

Upon completing registration an invoice will be returned online. Authors and participants are requested to bring the printed copy of the invoice (which includes the date and time of registration) to the conference registration desk to pay their dues. Late registration fee will be charged after 30 September 2006. Authors and participants are requested to register before 30 September 2006 to avail registration at reduced rate.
