Regarding Presentation of the Paper at GIS-Idea 2026

Dear GIS-Idea 2026 Conference Secretariat, Thank you very much for accepting our paper entitled: “Spatio-Temporal Deep Learning for Drifting Buoy Trajectory Forecasting: Multi-Dataset Evaluation and Operational Error Characterization” We regret to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to present this paper at the GIS-Idea 2026 Conference as scheduled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding and consideration. Updated GIS-IDEAS 2026 Program and Workshop Information

Dear Colleagues, We are now less than one week away from the GIS-IDEAS International Scientific Conference. Please find attached the latest updated conference program. We kindly ask you to refer to the program when preparing your presentations. In addition to the main conference, which will take place on September 25–26, two workshops will be held on September 24. The workshops will be conducted by Prof. Maria Antonia Brovelli from Politecnico di Milano, Quang Huy Nguyen, PhD Candidate at Politecnico di Milano, and Dr. Pham Thi Mai Thy from the Vietnam National Space Center (VNSC). Detailed information about the instructors was provided in my previous email. We are still accepting registrations for both workshops. Registration will close once the number of participants reaches 20 or on September 20, 2026, whichever comes first. To ensure that the workshops run smoothly, the instructors kindly ask all participants to prepare their laptops and install the required software in advance. Registration for GIS-IDEAS 2026 Tour to Tam Coc – Hoa Lu

Dear GIS-IDEAS 2026 Delegates, As part of the social activities of GIS-IDEAS 2026, we are pleased to organize a one-day tour to Tam Coc – Bich Dong and Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Ninh Binh on 27 September 2026. If you would like to join the tour, please register with us from now until the afternoon of Monday, 21 September 2026. Your registration will help us confirm the number of participants and arrange an appropriate number of tour guides, transportation, and other arrangements for the group. Please note that the tour cost per person will decrease if the number of participants increases, as some of the transportation and guide costs can be shared among more participants. About the destinations Tam Coc is one of the most famous scenic areas in Ninh Binh, often referred to as “Ha Long Bay on land.” The landscape features limestone karst mountains, green rice fields, rivers, and caves. Visitors will take a traditional boat trip along the Ngo Dong River, passing through the spectacular limestone landscape and natural caves. Hoa Lu Ancient Town is a cultural and historical tourism area located in the vicinity of the former capital of Hoa Lu, which was the capital of Vietnam during the 10th and early 11th centuries. The area combines traditional Vietnamese architecture, historical and cultural elements, local cuisine, and an evening atmosphere inspired by the heritage of the ancient capital. We hope you will take this opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful and culturally significant areas of northern Vietnam and enjoy a relaxing experience together with other GIS-IDEAS 2026 participants. Registration deadline: Monday afternoon, 21 September 2026. If you would like to join the tour, please register before the deadline so that we can make the necessary arrangements. Dear GIS-IDEAS 2026 Organizing Committee, I am writing to kindly ask you to check and confirm the publication status and publication venue of my paper submitted to GIS-IDEAS 2026: *“Evaluation of New Global Gravity Models Using GNSS-Leveling Data in Viet Nam”* I have already paid the Conference Fee for GIS-IDEAS 2026, as shown in the attached payment confirmation. The payment was made on *28 May 2026*, with the following transaction details: - *Amount:* VND 1,500,000 - *Payment content:* Phung Trung Thanh – Evaluation of New Global Gravity Models Using GNSS-Leveling Data in Viet Nam – paid for GIS-IDEAS2026 Before making the payment, I had also contacted the organizers by email to express my preference for having this paper considered for publication in *The GIS-IDEAS Journal (TGIJ)* under the journal APC arrangement, rather than only in the *GIS-IDEAS 2026 e-Proceedings*. Therefore, could you please kindly check your records and confirm *which publication venue my paper has been assigned to*: 1. *GIS-IDEAS 2026 e-Proceedings* (APCs included in the Conference Fee), or 2. *The GIS-IDEAS Journal (TGIJ)* (journal APCs). About Tentative Program and Training Workshop Registration

Dear Colleagues and Participants, There are now only three weeks remaining until the GIS-IDEAS 2026 Conference. We are pleased to share with you the preliminary conference program (attached). As part of the conference activities, September 24, 2026, will be dedicated to Training Workshops. We are pleased to announce two specialized hands-on workshops focusing on the application of QGIS and its powerful ecosystem of plugins in Remote Sensing and geospatial analysis: Workshop 1: Mapping Land Surface Temperature (LST) from Satellite Data Using a QGIS Plugin Workshop 2: Urban Land Cover Classification Using the EnMAP-Box QGIS Plugin QGIS has become one of the world's leading open-source Geographic Information System platforms, offering an increasingly powerful and user-friendly environment that is now approaching the convenience and functionality of many commercial GIS and remote sensing software packages. Unlike proprietary software, however, QGIS is freely available and open source, providing not only a cost-effective alternative but also significant opportunities for researchers and developers to create new tools, plugins, and innovative geospatial applications. Its continuously expanding plugin ecosystem makes QGIS an increasingly important platform for scientific research, education, and professional applications. The workshops will be conducted by Prof. Maria Antonia Brovelli and Dr. Pham Thi Mai Thy, both of whom have extensive experience in GIS, Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, and geospatial technologies. Brief CVs of the instructors are provided below for your reference. Prof. Maria Antonia Brovelli holds a degree in Physics and a PhD in Geodesy and Cartography. She is a Full Professor at Politecnico di Milano (PoliMI), where she teaches GIS, Earth Observation and sustainable development-related subjects. Her research focuses on Geomatics, GIS, Earth Observation, Open-Source GIS, Big Geo Data, GEOAI and Geospatial Foundation Models. She has held numerous leading positions in international scientific organizations and initiatives, including ISPRS, ESA, the United Nations Open GIS Initiative, UN-GGIM Academic Network and OSGeo. She is currently the Head of GEOLab at Politecnico di Milano and has an extensive record of international research projects and scientific publications. She has served as Principal Investigator for two national-level research projects under Vietnam's Space Science and Technology Program. She is also a member of the Capacity Building Working Group (WGCapD) on space science within the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS).
