Dear GIS-IDEAS 2026 Delegates, As part of the social activities of GIS-IDEAS 2026, we are pleased to organize a one-day tour to Tam Coc – Bich Dong and Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Ninh Binh on 27 September 2026. If you would like to join the tour, please register with us from now until the afternoon of Monday, 21 September 2026. Your registration will help us confirm the number of participants and arrange an appropriate number of tour guides, transportation, and other arrangements for the group. About the destinations Tam Coc is one of the most famous scenic areas in Ninh Binh, often referred to as “Ha Long Bay on land.” The landscape features limestone karst mountains, green rice fields, rivers, and caves. Visitors will take a traditional boat trip along the Ngo Dong River, passing through the spectacular limestone landscape and natural caves. Hoa Lu Ancient Town is a cultural and historical tourism area located in the vicinity of the former capital of Hoa Lu, which was the capital of Vietnam during the 10th and early 11th centuries. The area combines traditional Vietnamese architecture, historical and cultural elements, local cuisine, and an evening atmosphere inspired by the heritage of the ancient capital. We hope you will take this opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful and culturally significant areas of northern Vietnam and enjoy a relaxing experience together with other GIS-IDEAS 2026 participants.
