Dear All,
It is my great pleasure to inform that Prof. Takashi Fujita, co-founder of the GIS-IDEAS Conference [1] has been awarded the "Order of the Sacred Treasure" [2] by the Japanese government in autumn 2014.
It a very happy coincidence that the award comes in the same year (2014 ) when the other co-founder Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai was bestowed with the Order of the "Order of the Rising Sun" [3] by the Japan Government earlier in 2014.
Hearty Congratulation to Prof. Fujita and Dr. Khai!!

Hi Dr. Son,
Unfortunately Fujita-sensei will not be able to make it to GIS-IDEAS 2014.
Dr. Khai will be at the conference and we are looking forward to hearing from him at GIS-IDEAS 2014.

We have experience problems of "no shows" during previous GIS-IDEAS where people submit paper and do not turn-up for the presentation. This time the hardcopy proceedings will be published only after the conference after confirming presentation. The hardcopy proceedings will be sent to registered participants by postal mail after the conference sometime in March/April 2015.

Dear Prof. Venka,
Because we receive the travel grant from the university and one of the outcomes when reporting the results is the hard copy of the proceeding, the post-conference publishing policy makes us hard to report. March or April, 2015 is too late.
Could you still publish the proceeding but only give it at the end of the conference? Some authors who do not present the paper will not receive the hard copy of the proceeding. This could eliminate the facts you mentioned.
Please let me know your opinion asap.
Thank you in advance.

Dr. Son,
We understand your situation. Submitted full papers will be online before the conference. Only papers that have been presented at the conference will be included in the hardcopy proceedings. Papers that are not actually presented will neither be made available online nor in the hardcopy proceedings.
It will take us sometime to edit the full papers before publishing the hardcopy proceedings so the earliest possible availability of hardcopy proceedings will be around March 2015.

This time the hardcopy proceedings will be published only after the conference after confirming presentation. The hardcopy proceedings will be sent to registered participants by postal mail after the conference sometime in March/April 2015.

Dear Dr. Son,
We know that you need Conference Proceedings for reporting the result with your university, so that the conference organizing committee will give you a Confirmation letter to confirm that you had participated in the Conference and your scientific article will be published in the hardcopy proceedings on March, 2015.
We do hope this solution will response to your needs.
We look forward to seeing you.
Best,
Minh

Dr. Son,
We understand your situation.

Dear Prof. Venka,
Because we receive the travel grant from the university and one of the outcomes when reporting the results is the hard copy of the proceeding, the post-conference publishing policy makes us hard to report.
Best regards,

Dear Prof. Venka,
Do authors of the GIS-IDEAS 2014 receive the hard copy of the proceeding at the registration desk as usual?
We have experience problems of "no shows" during previous GIS-IDEAS where people submit paper and do not turn-up for the presentation. This time the hardcopy proceedings will be published only after the conference after confirming presentation. The hardcopy proceedings will be sent to registered participants by postal mail after the conference sometime in March/April 2015.
