Dear Participants, We thank you for your continued interest in FOSS4G Asia 2017. We have extended the Conference/Workshop registration and payment date to January 1st 2017, Sunday to accommodate multiple requests for early registration. We have also introduced a new workshop in the forenoon session. Dear All, Thanks for your interest in participating in FOSS4G-ASIA, 2017. Kindly go through the following updates. NOTE #1: The online registration and payment gateway for Conference and Workshop participation is now live. Kindly use the below URL. http://www.foss4g-asia.org/2017/registration-info/ The revised deadline for early registration is December 25th, 2016 (Sunday). For participants from outside India, the above link is for registration only. Payments are to be done onsite on 26th/27th January 2017. Please carry your Debit/Credit card for the same. NOTE #2: For student participants who have not submitted their request till now for conference registration fee waiver, the last date for request is: 19th December, 2016. Students presenters who have already requested for conference fee waiver are being shortlisted for eligibility. A separate link will be sent individually to the selected students through email to: (i) CONFIRM your participation for conference (mandatory) (ii) Optionally register and pay for workshop(s), if interested E-mail for above two purposes will be sent by 20th December 2016 by the organizers. Dear All, Student participants who are presenting paper (Only one author in the case of joint paper) in the FOSS4G 2017 conference are entitled to request fee waiver for Conference registration. The portal is open for registration now. We request all students to start applying from today for the same. Dear all We are very glad to inform that we have had an overwhelming response to our call for abstracts. Congratulations to all authors. Due to a large number of submission, the Program Committee has planned to have a much larger poster session with longer core time for interacting with the participants and also plan for demos in front of their poster using their own laptops. The authors can still access their accepted abstracts after logging in to the conference website. Accepted abstracts will show status for "pending". The "pending" status is for two reasons below; a) The authors can still edit their abstract and prepare final version for printing in the abstract volume before 30 Nov. 2016. The final abstract will be text version with no attachments and maximum words is 500. b) "Pending" status will be "Closed" after the authors complete their registration. We request the authors to avail the benefit of early registration before 30 Nov. 2016. Detailed information about registration will be made available soon [1]. Participants can select training workshops that they may wish to attend while registering. Details of the planned training workshops are available at [2]. Workshops having low attendance (less than 5 participants) maybe cancelled and registration is on first-come-first serve basis. We request all participants to subscribe to the conference mailing list and direct any general questions to the mailing list. More details: http://www.foss4g-asia.org/2017/ best ---------------------------------------- Dear Sir/ Madam We are happy to inform you that OSGeo-India is organising FOSS4G ASIA 2017 Conference during January 26-29, 2017 at Hyderabad, India. FOSS4G-ASIA 2017 Conference on Free and Open Source Solutions for Geoinformatics (FOSS4G) that are planned to foster the development and promote the widespread use of Open Source Geospatial Technologies including support for software development and publicly available Geo-data. The proposed theme of the Conference is âEmpowering communities through open geospatial innovation". It will be organised by OSGeo-India and hosted by IIIT-Hyderabad, India. Open Source Geospatial Foundation of India (OSGeo-India) is a not-for-profit Society working with Governments, Academia, Research Institutions and Industry to provide support and help in building up of open source tools and applications related to the field of geospatial technologies and its allied sciences in India. The Society and its activities are tuned towards achieving its goals, both in the context of software development, e-governance, localization (Indian language support) and building of awareness & outreach of such software systems and publicly available geodata with a pan-India focus.
