I think a workshop is a pre-conference event. Hence, I think we can have
the date of the conference as it is 1-2 Oct and can mention pre-conference
event 30th September as a workshop which depends upon the number of
the proposal.

Dear All,
The FOSS4G-Asia 2020 host/venue selection has been completed.
Update about the voting process and results as below;
a) The voting period was between 9-13 December, 2019
b) Each member of the selection committee was requested
cast vote for first and second choice for host and venue
and going through the proposals and Q&A responses [1].
c) The team with the most first place votes was to be selected
as host for The FOSS4G-Asia 2020.
d) Voting was 100%
e) No tie had to be resolved
f) The Nepal team secured the maximum number of votes
as first choice
I would like to thank the South Korea and Nepal teams
for putting forth excellent proposals and promptly
responding to all the queries.
Congratulations to the Nepal team on being selected as
host for FOSS4G-Asia 2020!
Look forward to all your cooperation and active participation
to make FOSS4G-Asia 2020 a great success.

Below is an update on the present status of selecting host
for FOSS4G-Asia 2020;
1) Letter of Interest for 3 teams, namely, Thailand, South Korea
and Nepal [1] have been received. We thank the three teams for
expressing their interest in organizing FOSS4G-Asia 2020
2) Details explaining the process of selection are available at [1]
3) We now invite more detailed (max 4 A4 pages) from the Thailand,
Nepal and South Korea teans. The proposal should include items listed
in [1]. The teams can refer to 2018 proposals available [2].
3) The deadline for submission of proposals is 30 November, 2019
(Saturday) midnight UTC time [3].
4) Q&A period on the submitted bid is from 1-6 December, 2019.
Deadline for each team to answer Questions from Selection Committee
7 December, 2019 (Saturday) midnight UTC time [4].
5) The decision of the final selection can be expected around
the 15 December, 2019
